Apple patents the slide to unlock feature for touch screen devices
Apple filed a patent application for touch screen products on slide to unlock feature on year of 2009. Recently, Apple was awarded the patent for the process.

Interesting fact is, virtually every touch screen device from any platform, starting from android or Windows Phone, comes with this type of unlocking process. This patent would give apple the right to drag them all to court for legal battle over the said feature.
