Google web apps – More problems for business than solution ?
It was late 2004, when we tested, Google’s real power via their offering called “Gmail”. By offering never before feature in its search engine and email system, Google soon became the god of WWW.
Within couple of years, Gmail was to replace the word “email” for almost majority of users. There were times when Gmail invite’s were sold in black market.
However it seems the success Google have with end users, is missing when it comes to enterprise solution.
Back in late 2006, Google went a step forward from just “@gmail.com” to “@your-domain.com” by launching their hosted service as “Gmail for your domain” which within a year became “Google Apps Premier Edition”.
Just like any other Google product, definitely Google Apps also created a huge hype in business community and as a direct result, many businesses went with the solution without evaluating it properly.
Unfortunately, couple of years down the line, it seems Google apps have created more problems rather providing solutions and off late, industry is starting to reject the enterprise version of Gmail.
