Hi Kane,

There are few points to consider.

There would never be an end to the word “wait for a better and faster deal” in case of computers.

Even when you get Core i7 based MACs, there would be talks that Core i9 may be just around the corner.

So, yeah, no doubt, apple is known to use memory performance of a computer better than Microsoft products, so certainly we can expect Apple OS X using the QPI at its best.

Then again, if you are in need of a computer, then buy it, no point of waiting for a faster deal as there would be no end of it. However, incase you have options, like its an upgrade or second PC or such, in that case I advise to wait for the Core i7 based MACs.

Me, and i assume many others are still in the debate whether to wait for 2010 Q1 Macbook Pro’s release hoping they use Core i7′s… or would it be worth buying one now with Core 2 Duo and not waiting for 3 months? From what I’ve gathered Core 2 Duo’s won’t make much of a difference for general use, a bit of light gaming (CS 1.5, WoW etc) and some light photo and music editing. I gathered that the Core i7 is for more of the high end computer use at this stage. But how long until Core 2 Duo’s are outdated?
