BSNL announces 3G tariff under promotional scheme

3g_logo_bsnl

The state owned BSNL is the 1st to launch the 3G mobile services in India and has released its tariff plan for the 3G data services.

The given format of the plans are long and confusing hence here I simplify the details.

Connection charge

  • 2G prepaid customers under General Prepaid plan can migrate to 3G Prepaid through a migration voucher of Rs. 151/- (inclusive of Service Tax) with existing 2G-SIM and without any change of number.
  • In case Life time and any other plan user (pre-paid) would need to use “zero vouche” before using the migration voucher of Rs. 151/-
  • New SIM card would cost Rs. 300 with 7 days validity

PrePaid (voice) Tariff / price for 3G

It seems the existing 2G tariff wont be applicable under the 3G pre-paid, hence new tariff / recharge format is given. Recharge cards are available with Rs. 350 (30 days) / Rs. 650 (45 days) / Rs. 1350 (90 days).

PostPaid (voice) Tariff / price-list for 3G

Plan ranging from Rs. 500 till Rs. 2500 is available for different need. All plan comes with Full talk value.

Pre-Paid / Post-paid data service charge

Here comes with main thing, charges for 3G (3.6mbps) data services. All plans are available as 30 days basis.

  • Unlimited 3.6mbps is Rs. 3001/- per month
  • Lowest plan is Rs. 250/- with 300mb of usage along with Rs. 2/- per extra MB.
  • In case you run our of allocated data usage, there are data top-ups available under pre-paid, Rs 120 -> 100 MB / Rs 225 -> 300 MB / Rs 260 -> 500 MB / Rs 330 -> 1GB

Mobile TV for pre-paid / post-paid

Sorry the given plan is out of my understanding as no details are available on channel list or the terms are premium / non-premium channels.

Availability of data cards and tariff

No details are available at this time and users can only access 3G via their own 3G enable mobile phones but from the previous experiance of bundle services, expect the cards / devices to come from those cheap chinese manufacturer like ZTE / Huwai or such :(
