Windows Server 2008 is one of the most secure OS of year 2008

Studies conducted by IBM reviles that it is Windows OS which leads in terms of security over Apple OS X (MAC) or Linux karnel.

It is a long believe that, Linux and Apple OS X is much more secure than Windows based OS, where as reports published by IBM suggest opposite as IBM X-Force have found Windows Server 2008 more secure than OS X or any linux platform.

ibm_report

It is Apple OS X Server which is one of the worst in terms of disclosed vulnerabilities. However, do note, the report is prepared on basis of disclosed vulnerabilities, meaning there can be many more open loop holes in these OSes which are yet to be found that patched !!!

One may read the full report by downloading from IBM.COM -> PDF 4.58mb

my simple question no offense to any and all.
Linux OS and BSD unices gives away source code of their kernel.
Windows also started giving away kernel to public since 2007 before that it was a lengthy process.
IBM/HP/Novell never gives away, sun gives away partial OS source code.
now considering the fact the source code is given. and OS is nothing but the kernel and the utilities are nothing but tools which help/aid do kernel carry work? WTF (where=w) does IBM’s finding comes to picture?
and second i am not here as a linux/bsd fanboy, i am here as a tech guy who always gets to feel the wrath of ordinary user who cant even use the simple machine.
why this rant? first when they made XP they started to clutter as its easy and vulnerable to all virus. now they made it secure and people cannot work. WTF (w here = what)
seriously it doesnt matter who is the OS builder/provider? when it comes to end user? the tech dev chap always ends up banging his/her head on the wall.
they first crib windows xp sucks, then windows server is too touch. BS. then linux/BSD sucks as command line and then with a GUI they complain its not like windows.
in my opinion? it doesnt matter whether linux/bsd/windows. IDIOTS are IDIOTS. and unless they know how to tweak registry or have a custom kernel? the basic option of using computers to ease a day to day work than visually handicapped one hand user porno watching moron? all OS are useless.
it doesn’t matter if windows is secure or linux is secure? the end factor is “DOES THE ABNORMAL END ARROGANT USER KNOWS WHAT HE/SHE IS DOING? IF NO THEN ALL OS ARE THE SAME. USELESS. AND NOTHING IS IDIOT PROOF.”
why this rant?
i said for a few companies? use linux as its free and gives away source. it takes a few hours to build from scratch and move on. they refused, then i asked them to build windows from scratch as its free and also solves the purpose of saving bucks, as windows gives the source anyway. they refused. i kicked the job and told them to kiss my ass.
so OS doesnt solve the purpose, its the user who needs to get used to the environment.

The stats above are not accurate. If one bases the OS on security than MS is among the lowest. I suggest the writer of this blog go to the HP site in which they reviewed every OS. A detailed security test was done with a clustered back-up on all OS’s. Revovery for the MS was the lowest. Bottom line: he most secure OS on the planet is….OpenVMS. The hackers convention in Las Vegas refuses to use it since its been established as an OS that can not be hacked.

Please get your facts right. Note: I do not work for HP.

Hi David,

Please be kind enough to provide the exact URL of HP, in which they have given the comparison :)

Thanks again..
