Have you decided to buy a new printer for your home or office ? No matter which ever printer you plan to buy, regardless of the type, whether it is DeskJet / InkJet / LaserJet, there are few facts which you should check before buying.
- The maximum duty cycle
- Recommended maximum per month
- Design lifetime in page
Why not you suggesting the usual points ?
When choosing a printer, what comes to our mind to look or search for is points like
- DPI
- PPM
- Internal RAM (upgrade capabilities)
- Processor Speed
However more than these points, the thing which is most important is to learn and understand the limits of your printer.
How much can you print and how much will you print ?
Every device is designed for certain reasons. A sports car is not meant to carry payload and a truck is not meant to run in racing track. In case of your printer, it has its limit of printing or which in called duty cycle.
You cant expect to use a Deskjet printer for heavy duty printing because of slow PPM, where as a LaserJet printer although can have higher PPM but it is also limited by another factor, the duty cycle.
For example, HP Color LaserJet CP2025n, as per company specification, recommended printer per month is 2000.
It is very important to calculate the expected number, which you are willing to print every month before you make your purchase, unless if you are printing more than what the printer can handle, it will give problem in long run.
