Vodafone (Hutch) India confirms iPhone 3G 8 GB / 16 GB Indian Rupees (INR) Value
Finally Vodafone have broken their silence over official iPhone pricing in India, announcing that Apple iPhone 3G would be available in voda-store from August 22, 2008.
Apple iPhone 8 GB in India is priced at (INR) Rs. 31000/- where as the 16GB model is priced at (INR) Rs. 36100/-.
A lot of expectation where there to see iPhone to be priced within 12k in Indian Rupees where as the in raility the price is given almost 3 times of the expected !!!

@Abhilash
Abhilash,
I have an unlocked 3G phone that I plan to use while in India later this month. I would like to get a prepaid Airtel sim. Could you tell me precisely what to get, any activations such as mobileoffice etc. so that I can have someone get the sim before I arrive. Also, what settings such as APN, userid etc. would I need in order to access internet on the iPhone.

I think Vodafone lost out on a huge opportunity to completely sweep the Indian market with this amazing device owing to the fact that it was just grossly over-priced…I personally wouldnt buy one with my hard earned money…
