Zune Software update !!!
After the Zune Firmware 2.3, Microsoft has just released update for Zune Desktop software….
The standalone installer from their web link Zune.net provides version 2.1
Where as auto updater installs the version latest 2.3….
Do you need version 2.3 update ??
If you have updated your Zune firmware to 2.3, then certainly you must upgrade the software to 2.3… If you are still running the Zune 2.1 firmware then it is not a must but still its recommended to obtain the latest software and firmware for your device to enjoy all feature and maximum performance…
How do you update your Zune Software ??
Usually as soon as the PC connects to the Internet, unless a firewall is blocking the Zune application, it would offer you the news that, there is an update available for the device or the software…
How do you check for update manually ??
This is an optional step… If you find that your software is not updating it self autometically, then you follow the bellow steps to update the software !!
Launch the Zune Software, then click settings which is located on top right hand corner the software !!!
Now use the left navigation to click GENERAL, and use the right side option to check for update !!!
once again, if there is an update the Zune softwate would pop up to notify you,
Click update now to start the update process…

As always with Microsoft, pretty simple steps and straight forward setup…
The downloading process takes around 5 to 15 mins depending upon your connection speed…
This update is for both x86 (32bit) and x64 (64bit) Windows Vista and Windows XP…

I’ve tried to update my Zune DEVICE from 1.4 to the latest firmware. I’ve tried all of the suggestions on Microsoft’s website, to no avail. System won’t recognize that there are updates available. To top it off, I sell MSFT sofware! Can’t wait until my husband returns from his business trip and gives me back my iPOD.
