Ramana,

You might have been using Alkaline batteries. I encountered same problem earlier. I checked with one of the sellers they mentioned use mAH batteries. I started using it. I did not have problems from that time. Ofcourse, it is little expensive.You can get recharagable mAH batteries too. You can take nearly 400+ pics very easily. Ofcourse, its again depends on your usage. For normal usage the count would between 300-400.

I own a Nikon D 50, since I was not using ot for some time, fungus as creeped into my lens. Could you please do let me know the ervice centre for the same.

Alternatively, I also would like to know, if once the lens is opende up, the settings of the lens differ from the company assembled ones and we get a poor quality. Is it true ???.

I had given my D50 for repair with Nikon Authorised shop in Cochin ( PIXETRA )back on Oct 26th 2008, where they send the camera to Inter Foto. After constant follow ups a month later, they returned back the same with a billon Dec 09 2008. Before leaving the shop I just checked on the same, and to my surprise I found that the damage ws very much not been cleared. I put it acoss to the notice of the shop and they readily collected the bill back from me and returned the camera. ( It was like I had given the camera for safe keeping.)

In fact, the camera was returned with more internal demages.

The camera was given for repair, because of the fungi infection. I got the same repaired from a local shop for a paltry sum of 250 Rs. The fungi was cleared by clearing the CMOS of the camera.

Moral : If you trust and have a proper contact to lead to a local repair person, I would suggest it would be better than handing over the same to an authorized agent and then wait for their convenience.

I have an F-401 SLR model NIKON Camera. Which is giving trouble. While pressing the shutter release button for clicking photographs it’s shutter release button get stuck sometimes, Or sometimes when it releases it ovrelaps picture on previously clicked picture. i got a nikon coolpix S5 camera.i have used the camera extensively and very impressed by the performance but suddenly i got a peoblem-as and when i switch it on i gcan see the welcome screen but thereafter the screen goes blacout(no image is visible),but i can view the last clicked pics. if i try n click in the blackout mode i can hear the sound but when i try and view it its black only.so plz let me know the solution and the estimated cost also.bye the way camera was not mishandled no water exposure or tampering.

I doubt that for a broken part Nikon would provide any RMA or warranty.

I guess its a Compact, so if its a low end model, then it would be better buy a new one rather than trying to repair it..

pathetic experience with this service centre…. i am an owner of L100 Nikon Cool Pix… as i was facing a problem of Lens error and even after changing my batteries it didnt work, it was simply not responding to ON button…. the lens wasnt coming out…. so i contaced this service centre…. as it is the only service centre in ahmd…. this guy in here took 15 Fcukin dayz and doesnt even responds properly instead shows attitude and takes full advantage of monopoly….. the guy is a complete ass…. and i have faced this problem twice…. so if nikon u hearing this…. place some more service centres in ahmd…. come on dude….. there are many buyers and users of nikon in ahmd….. u can place 2 or 3 more service centres with good workers here……
