From the Pentium to Pentium D then comes the Core family and we are enjoying the 65nm Quad Core Intel processors…

Intel is all set to launch their new arrival of 45nm batch of multi core processors.. As per DailyTech, Intel Corporation is suppose to launch their new Batch of 45nm Quad Core QX9650 which is code named “Yorkfield”…

QX9650 will clock 3.0 GHz with 12 MB L2 Cache and will operate at 1333 FSB, it will come with 135 Watts of Power TDP with 4 logical cores. However it will run on the same LGA775 socket as Kentsfield Core 2 Duo processors…

Bellow chipset’s will support “Yorkfield” processors with a BIOS update or naively…

Nvidia 650 i/SLi
Nvidia 680 i/Sli
Intel G965 (Selected models of mobo)
Intel P965 (Selected models of mobo)
Intel G33
Intel X38
Intel P35

The main difference between the 65nm Kentsfield Core 2 Duo / Core 2 Quadro and this new QX9650 are in 2 aspect, larger L2 cache and inclusion of SSE4 instruction set for the processor.

When can we expect QX9650 in retail market?

As per DailyTech, we can expect the processor in the market by November 12, 2007.

What Next to QX9650 ??

After QX9650 Intel is set to roll out the lower versions of “Yorkfield” range…

 The Countdown for “Nehalem”….

After the Yorkfield Intel will bring the new range of its 32 nm Batch called Code Name Bloomfield architecture Nehalem.. As per DialyTech though the New Batch would be developed upon the Core architecture but they will be different in many fundamental sense with their pre-successor Core Architecture !!!

The Nehalem based processors may only run with Chipset X48 or later which are under development and its possible that they will suppose only DDR3 and that too Three DDR3 channels.

As the Nehalem architechiute will be fundamentally different from Core based processors therefore the New X48 chiset (Code name Tylersburg) range will come with new Processor Socket name LGA1366…

All New Batch of Nehalen is suppose to be 8 Core and each core is suppose to come with 2 Threads, yes, thats right, Intel is bringing the old Hyper Threading back as like Hyper Thrasport used in AMD X2 Range processors…

So we have a exiting time ahead of us as Computer users !!!
