hopefully, this too will make its appearence as fast as possible. Google OS was a hoax, but goobuntu turned out to be a truth. I intend to buy a mobile phone soon, and this is hopefully going to be the platform my first mobile will be based on.
Anyway, I think its much too early to speculate about the Android platform. For one, the GPhone/GooglePhone does not exist. Google makes no hardware. And this software is GPLed linux based. Its just an enhancement package for the linux kernel.
But still, it is surely going to be good for the following reasons:
1. Android is supported by Google, a Software Giant
2. Google has the nessasary resources to carry the developement of this high level safely and nicely
3. Android is Community based, hence the apps for it will be rather high in number
4. Being Linux based gives it a rather solid stability inheritance
5. Thanks to the current GUI revolution in Linux, this won’t suck in looks like other linux implementations(read PS2 linux)
6. As the kernel it runs is the same as the ones on desktops, it will be much easier to port apps to it from linux, than from say, windows vista to windows CE 6.
7. ANDROID IS AN EXCELLENT NAME
